13.1 Miles in 1:52:34!!!
I almost could not believe that time! The Mt. Nebo 1/2 marathon was the fastest race I have ever run!! It was incredible! The sights were fantastic, the weather was perfect and I couldn't believe how great I felt!! I was hoping, just hoping I could come in around the 2 hour mark and I almost couldn't believe my time!! I smashed my original 1/2 marathon time by 30 minutes!!! Woo Hoo!!! :O)
I was actually too speedy for my family! I told them that I was hoping to be done in 2 hours so that would put me around 9 am. They decided to wait until close to that time to come see me so by the time I crossed the finish line my family wasn't there! My friend, Christina, was too speedy for her family too! It wasn't until after 9am that we found them and they were all bummed that they missed us! It would have been nice to have pictures and video of me crossing the finish line at that time but actually doing it is what was worth it all! This will definitely be a staple race for me every year!
Running My World Happy
I once saw a t-shirt that said, "I run because....you wouldn't like me if I didn't!" I laughed and thought how much I resembled that quote! As a wife and mother of 4 'munchkins', sometimes life just takes on a life of its own....so, I run. I run to stay healthy. I run to stay sane. And, yes, sometimes I run from the mountains of laundry, piles of dishes, toilets to scrub and noses to wipe. But mostly, I run.... to be happy.

Stuff for Sale!!!
I haven't posted here for a while because I've been focusing on my new obsession......Facebook Garage Sale-ing.....(is that even a word??) I'm a member of a couple of different groups (The Payson List and The Payson Indoor Garage Sale) and after seeing all the different things people sell on there, I decided to give it a try. So I grabbed my Zumba at home workout and put it up for sale....$20
And guess what?? It SOLD in a matter of minutes!!! Oh boy!! I was HOOKED!! So that began the scavenger hunt for stuff around the house. I've made quite the profit over these last few days!! Bryan's work has been slow these past couple of months so this has totally helped putting gas in the car and food in the fridge!! It's amazing, when you really look around, how much stuff you have that you really DO NOT NEED!! The one thing that makes me sick is that we cleaned out our basement and garage about 2 months ago and I didn't have it in me to do a garage sale so we sent it all to the DI!! What was I thinking???!!! Oh well,.....live and learn I guess! :O) I've sold over $100 worth of stuff so far and I'm not done! My sister, Gina, called me to ask if I was selling all of my house! (All of your FB friends can see when you post something on one of the groups...so they must be thinking I'm nuts!!) But then she offered to bring me all of her stuff and have me sell it for a commission.....DEAL!!! So the selling continues....We're going to be rich!! ;o)
But I better get on the ball with running....I've taken a break for the last week.... The Mt. Nebo 1/2 Marathon is Sept.8th.....I'm ready but I can't slack off now! I'll be going for a long run tonight when Bryan gets home!
Happy Running! :O)

Be careful what you wish for??
We've heard the saying, "Be careful what you wish for." Well, I'd add, becareful what you pray for! ;o) The other morning as I began my day with prayer, I quickly remembered my commitment to be more patient, especially with my children. I know the Lord has a sense of humor so I knew that I would be tested..... but not so quickly!
After cleaning up breakfast and the whole kitchen....dishes, vacuuming, wiping down the counters, cleaning the sliding glass door, wiping down the front of the fridge (tons of finger prints!), etc.... I had gone to the laundry room for a minute and this is what I came back to........
Yes, my very busy toddler had pushed the stool to the pantry and quickly grabbed the bag of chips and dumped them upside down! AHHHHH!!! Anyone knowing my need for clean will understand the battle going on in me after seeing this! BUT, I took a moment to gather myself, decided it wasn't the end of the world and thought I would eventually see humor in this.....so I took a picture, then proceeded to clean it up. Looking back on it, I still can't laugh, but I can smile..... ;o)
Just looking at that makes me want to run!.....AWAY!! ;o)
Yesterday some of Bryan's family came in to town so we all got together for lunch at Terzi's Pizzaria. Our Brother in Law (Bryan's sister's husband) opened up a new pizza place right next to Fat Cat's and Einstein Bagel's in Provo next to BYU. I'm no pizza critic but their pizza is seriously the best ever!! I highly recommend it to anyone!! While we were there, my MIL wanted a family picture of us so we grabbed the camera's and snapped quickly......Reid isn't one to sit still! This is the only one that was taken where he's sitting still and smiling! SUCCESS!!!

Ahhhh! It's that time of year again!!
"....and Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again!" Yep! It's beginning to look a lot like the beginning of the school year! Today I registered the kids for school. Jaxson has Miss Stephens for 4th grade and Sydney got Mrs. Penick for 2nd. Jaxson had Penick for 1st grade so we already know her. I've heard great things about Miss Stephens, so this will be great! They are so excited about their fun "treasures" they found at our visit to the DI! We couldn't believe what great things we found! They each got messenger bags in great condition for $2 each!! Sydney's is from a popular girls store called Justice! We found some cute dresses, and pants for her and Jaxson got some cool Children's Place pants! Talk about scoring on the deals!! We will definitely be going back soon! I also found some cute stuff....couple of pants and a jacket! The phrase, "one person's junk is another person's treasure" couldn't have been more true at that moment! ;o) Talk about awesome sauce!!

Sunday Fun-day
These pictures were taken this past Sunday afternoon. Bryan came running in the house after stepping outside for a minute to grab the camera. The sunset was beautiful and he wanted a picture of it with the house. We ended up taking random shots of us all outside too. These were just a couple of them.
Guess what??!! I just got my new running glasses today! They are the bomb!! They are Tifosi Wisp's in Pink/White! I love them! I already took a nice jaunt in them tonight when the weather was a bit cooler. I'll have to take a picture with them on....then maybe those slightly showing crows feet won't show! ;o)
I am exchanging my new Brooks shoes for my trusty Asics Gel Nimbus style. Road Runner Sports is an amazing company that lets you run in your shoes for 90 days and if you don't love them, they'll exchange them for you! Where have they been all my running life!!?? So awesome!! I am excited to get the Nimbus 14's. The Brooks were great, they just didn't have enough cushion for my feet. I am sure they are awesome shoes for someone else....just not me. My new one's are going to be pink....ALL pink!! So sa-weet!! :O)
Happy Running!!

No! No! Broken Toe!!!
I am totally bummed!! A few days ago I was walking in my kitchen to my sink and I got too close to a bar stool and smacked my pinky toe right up against it! Ouch....to say the least!! It was instantly turning blue and getting swollen. I iced it right away. I decided that it felt ok while I was walking around on it so I decided to get my awesome Brooks Glycerin 10's on and go for a run......
Once I got out on the road I could tell my other toes were compensating for the pain and my feet were cramping up. What started out as a 4 miler ended up a 2.7 miler as fast as my broken toe would allow. I finished in about 28 minutes. But I was glad to give my toe a rest since I was meeting up with some awesome friends to go on a run with them about 30 minutes later.
I tried taping my toe but I think I did it wrong....the blood wasn't circulating very well. So off came the tape and I put my socks and shoes back on and went for a leisurely jog with them. It was so fun to talk about motivating eachother with our goals. These are my friends that I am going on the cruise with in February! We can't wait!
Anyway, I watched some tutorials on youtube for how to tape a broken pinky toe. I think I got it right. It doesn't hurt and I'm hoping it gets better soon. I decided to wait until Monday to try running on it again but I seriously can't imagine waiting another day. I may try it tomorrow since in my mind I am secretely hoping that my toe isn't broken....just sprained or really bruised....that way it will heal faster and I can run again! (Hey, a girl can dream, right??!) I've also been rubbing this awesome doTerra oil that my friend gave me a sample of. It's supposed to aide in healing broken bones and sprains.....So here's to the oil!!! I hope it's working!

Cruise to Lose or Lose to Cruise?
So yesterday came and went without a post but new habits are hard to form! But at least I'm trying, right!?
Well, a couple of friends of mine and I have been talking about needing some motivation to achieve our goals....fitness goals. The idea of a cruise was thrown out there and it caught like wild fire! One friend started searching and then I caught the bug of researching it and we found one that we thought would be so fun to go on. I didn't think it would be that hard to twist our husbands arms to come on a cruise with all of us....and I was right! For no later than a few hours, we had booked a fun cruise to Mexico! How crazy are we!! We are so excited and can't believe we're actually going.
We've entitled our trip....."Lose to Cruise". We're going to be putting together focus boards to help us remember our goal and stick to it!
Well, one of the BEST things happened to me today to help me with my goal..... My new running shoes arrived!! I got the new Brooks Glycerin 10's and they are not only totally cute (charcoal gray and hot pink) but they fit my feet like pillows from heaven! I can't wait to take them on a test run! Hopefully Bryan will come home at a decent time so I can get out there....even for a short 4-miler. My Asics Gel Nimus 13's are totally on their way out....I can tell the cushion is flat and not much support. Plus my knees are starting to feel every step. The best thing about it is that I got them from www.roadrunnersports.com and I saved 20% and got FREE shipping!! Totally saved me some $$! That definitely makes me happy!
